How was Brazuca named
Brazuca was named in September 2012, following a public vote that included a million football fans. It represents the informal term used by Brazillians to describe national pride in the Brazilian way of life.
Brazuca design in vibrant colors and stripes plotted around the ball symbolizes the traditional Brazilian bracelet of good wishes (fit to Senhor do Bonfim da Bahia) and evokes energy and passion associated with Brazillian football.
Brazuca was involved in two-and-a-half years of testing engaging over 600 football players from 30 teams, in 10 countries on three continents. It has been trialled by the likes of Lionel Messi, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Zinedine Zidane. The ball has also been trialled at the Under-20 World Cup under the guise of a different design, in a friendly match between Sweden and Argentina in February 2013.
The Brazuca is available at all SiM Impex retails as a gift with every purchase of SACHS products bigger than 600 KM.
